If not properly managed, referrals can be miscommunicated, delayed, and even lost, which can result in grave consequences – for patients and physicians. The Challenge
Dr. Geneviève Rousseau sought help to improve the intake of hundreds of weekly referrals received at Origyns Medical Clinic. The Result
Bringing in additional OMD Advisors, Katie and Kristen developed a triage process for referrals, customized to the clinic’s workflow. Focused on templating as much administration as possible, they created standardized forms to facilitate communication between the clinic’s specialists and primary care physicians. The use of private messages was put into place to ensure notifications weren’t missed.

But their work wasn’t done. To ensure the success of the new referral management process, Katie and Kristen provided training and onboarding for the clinic team, with frequent check-ins to secure their feedback or address any issues.
